Visiting the Bowling Green Pub

As a passionate supporter of the great British pub – and someone who likes the occasional ale – it was great to visit the team at The Bowling Green pub in Northwich recently.

It’s had £230,000 refurb after closing its doors earlier this year and created 12 new jobs in the constituency.

There’s something very special about the British pub and it’s been a difficult time for the industry this...

Do you know the best pub chef in Weaver Vale?!...

Following contact from the British Beer and Pub Association, I am asking residents to nominate the best pub chef in the Weaver Vale area – as part of a national competition to find the best pub chef in the country.

The 2018 Parliamentary Pub Chef Award is run by the British Beer and Pub Association, and MPs have been offered the chance to nominate chefs in their constituency to go...

Fake Merseyflow website scam – response

I am extremely concerned about the reported existence of a potential fake phoneline and website purporting to be the official Merseyflow site.

If you have been affected by this scam, please contact Action Fraud, the National Fraud and Cyber Crime reporting centre on 0300 123 2040.

I have contacted Merseyflow to ask about what action is being taken to shut the scam operation down, warn residents who may have been...

“I’m disappointed but not surprised that Ineos have chosen to spend their time in the high courts, rather than in the local communities that will be affected by fracking. Had they done so, then they would have heard a loud and clear message that their plans are not welcome here.”

“Ineos may have secured the support of a court today, but they certainly do not have the support...

Mersey Gateway Bridge - Keeping Residents updated

The issue of tolls on the Mersey Gateway bridge continues to be a major issue that as local MP I am raising at every opportunity. I believe that the current proposals as they stand are unfair, divisive and a tax on jobs – a view shared by Labour Parliamentary colleagues, and I have raised the issue in parliament demanding a fair deal for all Weaver Vale residents.

Tomorrow, along with...
