Mike Amesbury Member of Parliament for Weaver Vale

I’ve written to the Chief Executive of BT today over the company’s plans to axe a large number of jobs.
This is in support of the Communications Union’s Count Me In campaign which is opposing compulsory redundancies at BT, EE and Openreach.
BT plans to centralise much of its work into just six areas in England and Northern Ireland which will lead to the loss of decent, high skilled, well paid jobs in Weaver Vale and beyond.
Many of these members of staff are key workers who we’ve relied upon these last few months, and now the company is planning a restructure which will leave many of them out of work.
I’m calling on the company to do the right thing, show some loyalty to these members of staff and protect their jobs
