I know many people will be feeling worried and frustrated as we head into this new national lockdown.
The challenges posed by this pandemic are hard enough, but Boris Johnson’s constant u-turns and 11th hour decisions are creating unnecessary confusion and distress in an already very difficult situation.
But we are where we are. We’ve been here before and we’ve come out the other side. We will do it again.
From my side, as your MP I will be doing the following:
- Liaising with local health leaders to ensure vaccine rollout happens as quickly and smoothly as possible.
- Supporting constituents with casework. If you have health, work, food, education or support concerns that you feel are not being addressed via the regular channels, don’t hesitate to contact my office at firstname.lastname@example.org
- Working with our local councils, both in my role as MP and as a vice president of the Local Government Association, to ensure they have the financial resources they need to support our communities during this difficult time.
- Working with colleagues in Parliament to hold this government and this Prime Minister to account in his handling of this pandemic.
Once again, I know everyone in Weaver Vale will play their part and obey the new regulations. Hospitalisations are high and we have to do our bit to protect our NHS and the health, care and key workers putting themselves in harms way to keep us all safe and well.
Things are tough right now but we know the way out, and this time we have vaccines and treatments on the horizon. Stay safe, stay in touch with friends, family and neighbours – especially those who may be lonely or vulnerable. And we will get through this again – together.
