I’ve been making a fuss after 300 jobs were sadly lost at the collapsed finance giant Greensill Capital at Darebury Park in my constituency.
Boris Johnson has ordered a review after it emerged former Tory MP David Cameron, working as Greensill’s adviser, had been lobbying ministers on its behalf, gaining privileged access to the heart of Government.
Chester-based founder Lex Greensill used this access to promote a government-backed loan scheme he had devised.
Cameron was set to make up to $70m if Greensill had floated.
The inquiry must be independent, legally binding and come before Parliament where it can be held to account.
No more cronyism, no more burying it under the carpet.
