Back when the country was in the grip of Euros-fever, I really enjoyed going along to the Kops ‘n’ Kids football tournament at Runcorn Linnets FC’s ground in Murdishaw, organised by Runcorn Police Station.
Around 1,200 girls and boys from teams across the area took part in the event designed to promote health and fitness and build relationships with young people.
I took on Richard Braithwaite, AKA Mr Silky Skills, at head tennis and apparently managed nine headers (I say ‘apparently’ because that was the official tally but I’m claiming I did 15!).
Kops ‘n’ Kids is a programme that is running throughout the summer.
