I joined residents and local councillors on a lively demo opposing plans to expand the waste incinerator currently under construction at Lostock in Northwich.
And I encouraged everyone to object to the variation by the extremely tight deadline of December 2.
As you will be aware, the incinerator wasn’t wanted in the first place but was passed by the Tory-led coalition Government in 2012.
We certainly don’t want it to burn yet more waste, spew out more pollution and attract more lorries over extended operating hours with the impact that has on air quality and the health and wellbeing of the community.
Let’s hope the current Government is listening.
