The documents confirm that UK-US trade talks have included discussions about how to change the rules to benefit big pharma. Higher prices for drugs are on the table.
The drug Humira for Crohns disease and rheumatoid arthritis costs the NHS £1,409 a packet. In America the same packet costs £8,115. Last year, the cost of insulin on the NHS was £413.10 per person per year – and nearly £1000 in the US.
After years of Conservative neglect, Labour will deliver the real change the NHS needs – more nurses and doctors, cuts to waiting times and an end to privatisation.
Labour will ensure everybody gets the care they need with free prescriptions and free personal social care.
You can’t trust Boris Johnson with our NHS. GP numbers are falling, the number of people waiting for urgent cancer treatment has trebled, and the waiting list for operations has reached a record 4.4 million.
